Who I am

I trained at the Hampstead Alexander Technique Training School, which involved three years of full time training. I completed my training in 2000 and have been teaching the Alexander Technique for 10 years.
I am a member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (MSTAT). STAT was the original professional society for Alexander Technique teachers, and was established in 1958 by teachers who had been trained by F M Alexander, the founder of the Technique. Although STAT has helped establish affiliated societies of professionally qualified teachers in many other countries it is still the largest such society in the world.
I am a former Chairman of STAT.
Before training as an Alexander Technique teacher I worked in the personnel/human relations field with special emphasis on negotiations with trade unions and representation at employment tribunals.
I am noted by my colleagues and my pupils for my clarity of thinking and expression. In a lesson from me it will be clear what you are getting.
I have given private one-to-one lessons in the Alexander Technique for 9 years, firstly in London where I used to live and more recently in Oxford.
I have run evening classes on the Alexander Technique in the YMCA and have also run a number of introductory half day workshops on the Alexander Technique in Oxford.
